Our Story

Soteria Church was founded in 2013 in the Baltimore area with a simple yet profound vision—to see lives transformed through the saving power of Jesus Christ. As a non-denominational church, we are committed to faithfully proclaiming the Gospel, cultivating authentic biblical community, and raising disciples who know God deeply and reflect His love in every sphere of life.

The name Soteria comes from the Greek word σωτηρία (sōtēria), meaning salvation, deliverance, preservation, and safety. More than simply a name, it is the message that defines our church. We believe that true salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone, who not only saves us from sin but restores, preserves, and transforms us by His grace. Everything we do is centered on pointing people to Him.

Today, Soteria Church has grown into a vibrant, multilingual, multigenerational, and multicultural church family that reflects the beauty of God's Kingdom. Though our backgrounds may be different, we are united by one Lord, one faith, and one Spirit as we worship together, grow together, and pursue Christ together.

Our Vision

At Soteria Church, we believe the Church is called to be a people devoted to God's presence, grounded in His Word, and steadfast in prayer. Following the example of the early Church in Acts 2, we desire to cultivate a community where worship is genuine, discipleship is intentional, fellowship is authentic, and prayer remains at the center of everything we do.

As The Church That Cares, our mission extends beyond Sunday gatherings. We are committed to loving God wholeheartedly and loving people sacrificially by serving our community, strengthening families, raising the next generation, and equipping every believer to discover and fulfill God's purpose for their lives. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we seek to become a church where lives are transformed, hope is restored, and Christ is glorified in everything we do.

Whether through worship, prayer, children's ministry, youth discipleship, home groups, outreach, or serving our neighbors, our desire is to faithfully build the Body of Christ and advance His Kingdom one life at a time.

Our Lead Pastors
Drs. Chuka and Ndidi Anude

Soteria Church is led by Drs. Chuka and Ndidi Anude, originally from Nigeria, whose lives are devoted to glorifying God and serving His people. Together, they faithfully shepherd the church through biblical teaching, prayer, discipleship, and servant leadership, with a passion for seeing lives transformed by the Gospel and believers equipped to fulfill God's purpose.

With a shared vision to build a church rooted in God's Word, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and devoted to prayer, they have led Soteria into a vibrant, multicultural community where people from every generation, culture, and background can encounter Jesus, grow as disciples, and live out their faith with boldness and compassion.
